Following the completion of the Stage 1 36-apartment building in 2020, the masterplan was revisited to ensure that subsequent stages would be sensitively integrated within the operational village. The focus was on phased planning that minimises disruption and maintains seamless continuity of care for residents.
Drawing on biophilic design principles, the development incorporates communal gardens, natural outlooks, and abundant daylight to strengthen residents’ connection with the surrounding environment. Stage 2 is particularly significant, acting as the central hub or ‘heart’ of the village, helping to shape its character and function. The building scale in this stage is intentionally lower than that of Building 1, creating a distinctive focal point that draws people toward the heart of the community.
Future proofing and flexibility have been prioritised to ensure long-term value. Resident rooms have been designed to allow future conversion between care levels, while structural provisions enable both horizontal and vertical expansion. A 570 m² secure dementia wing offers a safe, calming environment for residents with cognitive impairment, while retaining adaptability for future reconfiguration as care requirements evolve.
