As part of the Front of Whare Emergency Department (ED)Relocation and Expansion project, Neet Design was engaged to deliver the architectural design for the relocation of administrative functions and sleep rooms to the Old Children’sHospital building. The existing facility underwent a significant upgrade and interior refit to accommodate these new functions.
The fitout spanned two floors and was designed to support 22 distinct departments, each with unique operational needs, while also incorporating shared common areas and staff amenities to enhance efficiency and encourage collaboration.
Working in close collaboration with project managers Kensway, Neet Design led the design coordination process, including the facilitation of user group meetings and continuous liaison with a wide range of stakeholders. This engagement ensured that each department’s functional requirements were understood, prioritised, and integrated into a cohesive, practical, and efficient design solution. The result was a well-considered fitout that optimised available space and supported both staff wellbeing and operational continuity during the broader ED redevelopment.
